Different color or just a 'Variation'?

I picked up a very nice 34 Ford RL. I've never seen this particular color. I have a beautiful example in Anti Freeze that has NO toning at all. The paint just sparkles. This one appears to be, as best I can tell, 'Creamy Anti Freeze' The rear seat is bright and sparkly like my other piece and matches him quite closely. But the rest of the car appears to be solidly 'toned' and it appears 'creamy' in color. How does one rate this? Just a paint variation or an actual...

tried it for a couple days now an hate it with a passion doesnt lay right . just mot wonderingif its a bad batch thats been sittine while on shelf at hobby store . will post pics later when it dries on car heres the pics looks ok in photos but in hand horrible

Unknown Car help and other question

I have a cool looking car I would like to restore, it is missing the engine and I would like to get one, and it needs a windshield but I don't know what the car is. It has a slug over where the name would be, so I'm guessing they used the vehicles body and then renamed it and used at a later date. It is dated 1970

Anyone see or hear from Hotwhel1981?

I have no ability to do the kind of quality work the folks who post here do. If I tried to do what you all do, I would probably drill my finger through the table or something so I leave that stuff alone. But I do like a clean, well done redline. Thus, I have become quite good at 'cleaning and polishing' a car without the disassembly. Is this 'acceptable' to the modern collector? What are the views on this here amongst the Restoration folks? If I sell one of these...

Need pic of Eldo base

Hi,
have a Custom Eldorado with loose axles. I allready succeeded in attaching the rear axle again but the front axle causes trouble.

Does anyone have a picture of the inside of an Eldorado base? I don't want to drill it open, it's still too nice. I work with two needles and I think it will become much easier if I would get to know how it looks inside.

First -- powder coating I know waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day a guy named the redline technician powdercoated cars and they looked awesome and the paint job was bulletproof. Has anyone since tried/messed with this? It was always something I wanted to try and never did.

Second idea was to clearcoat a polished/chromed car then use rit dye to spectraflame it. I remember there was a time when everyone was rit dying newer cars to get different colors (I did it it was fun) I...

I always been a big proponent when it comes to not introducing ANYthing water-based to a naked casting - whether it's cleaning or painting.

About a year ago, I did some experimenting using some Future tinted with food coloring - both are essentially water-based. It made for a great clear color and the finish was super shiney with no need for any further clearing to get a high gloss .... that was a year ago.

I have 2 cars and would like them drilled, bases swapped, and reassembled with a hex screw on both.
Just would like a very clean professional job as 1 or both will be a gift for a collector friend.

New member and questions on a Vibration Polisher

Hey guys, I have considered doing some customs/restorations involving older redline hotwheels. I have done some hand polishing, but I would much rather use a vibration polisher.

I have run a search on here and read people's opinions on them and have come to the conclusion that if I purchase one it will be from a gun shop or the one playzwithcarz has which can be purchased online. I will avoid the harbor freight unit, and will probably use walnut media....

Had these castings laying around and decided to polish them out and paint them all spectra flame pink finally their polished painted and cleared a little cure time and i can slap these puppy's back together again mind you picture doesn't do them justice plus i did a short order in olive too - MAC.
