Saturday, June 21, 2008 was a very sad day for the racing community, Two time top fuel champion Scott Kalitta lost his life during a qualifying attempt in
Englishtown, New Jersey.

Sad day indeed. Lots of videos on YouTube on this one ....
Scott Kalita Fatal Crash This may be a rather odd way of looking at it, but at least his number came up doing something he loved. It's always a shame to hear of someone's passing, but even more tragic when it's taken at the hands of a lunatic with a gun or a drunk driver. Mark.

I agree 100% with you Mark. Scott died doing something he loved. Very few of us in this world are fortuneate to have that. Much better to go that way, than as
you said in a crash by a drunk driver, or at the hands of some madman with a gun.......

Scott Kalitta will be missed in the NHRA community but he is also lucky! He will be able to see and hear George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937-June 22,
2008) who passed away a day earlier. Two legends died prematurely in life
